Alona Beach

Updated: Dec 29, 2023

So every morning we have been waking up realatively early. (me between 4am & 5. Grant around 6am.) We take a tuk-tuk to the cafe for 100 PHP ($1.81) each order lattes 425 PHP ($7.67) and take a tuktuk back.

Our Morning Coffee

So, days ago, after our morning coffee we decided to rent a scooter. It was 2300 PHP for 7 days. ($41.50)

Bohol and where we are on Panglao

Oh boy! We have been having SO. MUCH. FUN! We rode around the Island.

and we went to Alona beach. The beach has some similarities to the ones I'm used to in the states. For instance there are plenty of little shops and places to eat, kind of like a board walk, but it's all on the road leading to the beach not so much runnning along the beach. Running along the white sands are resorts and dive schools and many, many men urging you to go on 6, 8, 10 hour excursions with them.

As we walked along the beach we noticed several things. They don't have seashells like I'm used to, It's all broken bits of coral. We came across some women harvesting sea urchin and they warned us to be careful. The sea urchin comes in with the tide and as we walked and looked around they were everywhere! Good thing we were wearing water shoes!

There were not too many people in the water or on the beach which makes sense since it's been cloudy and threatening to rain everyday.

This is amazing! I love watching you guys live this all out! And tell Grant to keep his mouth closed when scootering…. Less bug eating 😆
